About This Quote
People often believe that they are called to comfort others when they are hurt or hurt those around them. However, the call to comfort is not from God. Rather, it is our own selfish nature that leads us to want to comfort those around us. We feel the pain of those who are hurting and want to make things better for them.
As we try and fix this pain, we can make it worse and make things much worse. We must not try and solve the problems of others. We must let them solve their own problems and learn how to do it themselves.
